Install the app

Your operator has already set up an account for you. You received the matching activation code by email or SMS - in the format 0000-0000-0000-0000.

Open the Beckon app, enter your activation code and tap Activate. Your account is now paired with your smartphone.

To use another account on the same device, tap Bind and enter the next activation code.

If your account was previously paired with a different smartphone, the unpairing must be confirmed first. The process starts automatically and you will be notified by email or SMS.

In the main view your permitted actions first appear gray (inactive). As soon as you are within range of a Beckon, the matching action automatically turns blue (active). Tap the blue symbol and the action runs instantly - for example, a door opens.

The main view also shows messages from your operator. Messages with a red symbol are important. Only once you have confirmed all important messages can you trigger actions again.

If your operator manages capacity, use the check-out action to release your spot when you are done. Want to stay longer? Just open the main entrance again to check back in.

The app needs internet access to load permissions and trigger actions. Bluetooth (Android and iOS) and location access (Android only) are needed to find nearby Beckons and communicate with them. These permissions are only used while you use the app - there is no background tracking. You only receive a push notification when your operator sends you a message.

Your privacy matters to us. We only store the times at which you confirm messages and trigger actions. Beyond that, we collect no data about you.

Beckon supports fully anonymous use. We act as a data processor for your operator and only handle the data they provide. All data passed to Beckon remains within the EU legal area; Google (Android) and Apple (iPhone) are excluded from data processing.
